Weird man dressed as a cat terrorizes residents in Merseyside, England

A dog walker snapped this picture of the 'cat man'. Image Credit: Facebook / Abbie Gilbert Dressed in a full black catsuit and with a penchant for dancing, meowing and growling at random members of the public, this anthropomorphic 'cat' has freaked out quite a few people.

One local - Abbie Gilbert - reported encountering them while out walking her dog.

"Anyone know who the freak in the cat mask and morph suit is at the coastal park near the harvester?" she wrote on Facebook.

"Was walking my dog tonight and heard a man making cat noises, shone a torch he was waving his arms at me before crawling up the hill! Never been so scared!"It was a similar story for another dog-walker in the same area who first became aware of the 'cat man' when she heard growling and turned to see him crawling toward her on all-fours.

"I didn't feel scared really, he was just waving his arms and making panther noises," she said.

"I felt more confused than scared."

Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell has since appealed to members of the public to report the strange man to the police should they happen to encounter him.

Exactly who the man is and why he's running around at night in a cat costume, remains - for the moment at least - unclear.
